Dark Knight Metal is all from Scott Snyder. So it's in line with what he's doing with Justice League. DKM and his run on Justice League, are the jumping on points for everything going on in DC right now. You should go back to read everything after the first DKM, because the Batman who Laughs did a lot with main continuity Batman.

I'm a huge DC fan, but I was pretty much done after they scrapped Rebirth. Especially when they dropped everything with Wally West, and ruined the Super Sons by aging up Jonathan to be an older teen. That was a great title that had huge potential. People always say that Superman isn't relatable. They gave him a young son. There could have been a Super Sons cartoon, toys, video games. They fukked it all up, because DiDio wanted to do that 5G crap, that Snyder gave the middle finger to.

I think I stopped Justice League after the Darkseid Wars or Rebirth. I can’t really remember when. I read the 1 shot of the Batman who laughs from the first run, and then the Arc where he infected Shazam, Supergirl, Jim Gordon, et al.

It’s not in continuity?!? That feels like a bit of a cop out from how it got presented during the Darkseid Wars. I thought they implied there were 3 in the main timeline. I was looking forward to seeing DC try and reconcile this.

I get what he’s saying. But the take it or leave it approach feels like a cop out. The Batman we’ve been reading about is supposed to be a god tier detective, I was looking forward to the explanation on how it took him becoming the literal god of knowledge to figure out his arch nemesis is actually 3 different people.

I’m sure the story will be interesting, just the way it’s being described, it sounds like something a bit different than what was hinted at. I may wait for the trade instead of buying the single issues now.

I agree, but at the same time I can understand the writers wanting to keep their options open in case the story is unpopular.

First issue was pretty good in my opinion tho if nothing else my curiosity is piqued

You caught me interest. I wasn’t sure if they were even going to address the issue or just be like, here’s 3 random joker stories, enjoy. I was more interested in the connection between the 3.

Without going into spoilers, I'll say that that question isn't answered as of yet as they're still trying to figure out what the deal is. Although there are some implications in the issue that they're not clones.

Also, it's NOT three separate stories. It's one big story and it basically revolves (so far) about the Batfamily trying to figure out WTF is going on. The Jokers definitely interact with each other.

If you aren't up on the continuity that's not the writers/artists fault.... that is your fault. If you don't wanna catch up then that is on you and the story might not be for you. Nobody owes you anything.

This seems like an unnecessarily hostile shot at me. I’ve got at least 5 other posts in this thread talking about my interest in this series and a post saying I was probably going to pick it up. Is there some reason you ignored those posts?

Also, comic book fans bytching about continuity is as old as the first retcon. It’s weird that you (1) chose to single me out over that and (2) that you didn’t quote the posts where I talked about continuity. I also dapped up pretty much every poster in this who talked about continuity and the 3 jokers story with me. So clearly i wasn’t here shytting on DC. I spend roughly $30-$40/ month buying single DC issues. It’s kind of shytty that despite not having missed an issue of several DC books for at least 17 years, it’s still kind of a bytch to try and keep up DC’s ever changing continuity and DC’s seemingly endless universe shattering crises. Doomsday Clock just ended and now we’re jumping to another crisis, what 9 months later?

My issue is you saying the continuity is fukked up, it's not fukked up it exists in a timeline and there's no real reason to stick to one timeline or another, history has proved over the past 50 years that there is plenty of room for multiple timelines to exist and giving a character those possibilities opens the doors for more writers/artists to explore different ideas.

As for our positive exchanges in other threads, I think you're probably right that we have had good discussions. I don't have a personal issue with anyone on here, none of my posts are personal shots, it's all debate/discussion.

Did anyone finish the series yet? I just read all 3 and I’m not sure how I feel about it. As a one off story, I enjoyed it. As something that was supposed to fit in the main lore of Batman, I’m not sure how I feel about it. The ending seemed less than satisfying.
