Well that would have to be the skeleton of any deal.

Don't know what we have that's worth a 1st from someone else though, assuming Bam is off the table at the moment

I might be crazy but I don't want to give up Winslow in a trade for Kyrie. I'd much prefer JRich or TJ

Obviously Kyrie is much younger and has higher upside than Dragic at this point but last year there wasn't much difference between them when you look at the numbers.

I thought Lebatard was crazy when he was talking about Kyrie wouldn't be that big of an upgrade over Goran until I saw the numbers. FG%, 3FG%, APG, SPG are almost exactly the same. Kyrie just had a higher FT% and 4 more ppg but took more shots

I hope we keep the team together. Kyrie shouldn't have waited until our roster was set to start making trade requests.
Only trade i make for Kyrie is Dragic and Tyler Johnson, period. Absolutely no picks. I'd consider including Winslow in the package but unlikely

And this is the other part of the equation. Dragic is a very, very good basketball player. Sometimes maybe underappreciated by our fans a bit. He was a brought in and forced to change his style of play because we had two aging stars who didnt want to run. This past year we had more guys that wanted to run with him and we saw the positive results.

On the other hand, there is more to the story than just taking the stats for face value at a head to head comparison. Age as you mentioned. Clutch factor is another, Dragic is a different type of player, he's not going to get you that championship winning shot in 2016 like Kyrie. And then there's the recruitment factor in FA.

There's also legitimate concerns with Kyrie defensively. There's concerns about durability. Last 3 years Dragic has played 78, 72, and 73 games with no major injuries. I like the group we have, I don't mind seeing what these guys can do. At the same time a superstar caliber player (at the right price) elevates this team into a legitimate contender right now. Worst case scenario Kyrie is a young guy, he has interest in the team, and he's a UFA at the same time Dragic's contract is up. I just wouldnt part with Winslow or Bam today.

Kyrie is entering the meat of his prime and has the rare ability to completely take over a game... score 50-60 on any given night that only a select few players in the league have. Plus we've seen how he gets busy on the biggest stage, the NBA Finals. Getting a 25-year old with that kind of resume is obviously going to cost you, as much as I would hate to see it break up our young core as I want to see our young bucks develop and flourish in the Culture, but :manny:
