The only way I can respect this storyline is if someone calls him the hell out for being over the top self centered. We just stepped foot on M-A-R-S and you're over there twirling around on some "I'm gay!!! Look at meeeeee!!!" bullshyt.

He should've waited to get back to Earth then made the announcement. It would be really interesting if the writers delved into a problematic personality that would do something like that. But in today's climate, I doubt the writers portray this reveal add anything but saintly.

It was a start. But they gotta delve into it a little deeper. Does he regret it? Are there mixed emotions outside of just the backlash to him being gay? Does anyone else acknowledge it as selfish? How's the rest of the crew feel or are they all on the "that was so brave" wave?
