What Floyd is saying is that he won't "donate to Africa". That in and of itself means what? When you "donate to Africa" do you give it to the Nigerian government? Or do you give it to NGO's that are audited and can document exactly how they spent the money? African Americans today are not linked with West Africans now but the fact remains; that is where they came from. By dismissing West Africa as just another place, AA's are effectively saying that they were as an entity created by the white man and they had no culture that predates their bondage. I'm not all about nationalism but to think it's some kind of brave thing to say that you wont donate to "Africa" when people there more than anywhere are struggling is just plain stupidity. I think everyone should worry about their own people and problems. That being said when people in Africa are dying and starving, cacs help them out of pathetic semi racist white guilt. That's sad. Are they more compassionate than AA's? Obviously not. There are PLENTY of black brothers than go to Africa and make a change.
