when have we ever had a prolonged conversation on SRR on here?....most of us realize how great SRR is from the fights of him out there and usually his career is as far we've went..but there hasn't been an impetus yet to really talk about him like for instance this video of floyd saying he's better than ali
He shyt talk his opponent, and he went to jail for domestic violence, a issue fighters usually struggle with like a SRR

But why does SRR shortcomings dont get thrown at him......

Im just being consistent judging everyone with the same microscope, if we having discussions leave your biases at the door. It may seem Im going with Floyd andddd im entitled to that, but me I could call it like I see it regardless with no qualms

I could have sworn Sweat Pea dropped Roger with a sick 2 piece. I haven't seen that fight in years, but I remember Pernell kicking his ass all over the ring and even clocking the ref as well during an exchange. Roger looked decent towards the end, but that was only after Pernell got tired from giving him the Calzaghe/Lacy treatment.
It was a back and forward barn burner great fight watch when you can....

If Floyd is a product of over hyped opponents

Ali is the product of being over hyped

If you disagree with this assessment, aside from his victory over Foreman what makes his accomplishments at HW better than Foreman, why aint Foreman the GOAT.

If victories(a lucky one at that) superseded everything than Norton>>>>Ali IMO

But that aint a slight on floyd, Manny have pages of excuses of why he dont want to fight Floyd, why is it so hard for some to see he didnt want to fight Floyd like he has said when Manny stated

He big, I small:pachaha:

When its all said in done that ghost will follow Manny

I seen the fight before, it wasn't some back n forth barn burner. It was an exciting ass kicking, like most of Erik Morales old fights were.

Roger gets dropped hard in the 1st 30 seconds of this highlight vid.

exactly, Nobody can name 5 fights worth mentioning on his resume that transcends the sport. He is a product of OVERHYPED opponents who were really just avg to slightly above. or just not in their prime
funny they used to say the same thing about ali until he took those years off and then started taking l's
if yalll can't see and respect what floyd has done for the last 17 plus years then you a hater or you watching the wrong sport

listen you nyggas... I asked y'all to name Mayweather 5 signature fights that even can be considered a top 20 fight of all time. Y'all cant. He didnt fight 1 single fight that ranks top 20 of all time..

take the L on that. Floyd is a great fighter in the wrong era. not his fault, is what it is. But dont come in here campaigning for a nygga that never fought a great opponent.. sorry

Maybe your just exaggerating for effect or maybe you dont know what "transcend" means but please name 5 Ali fights that "transcend" the sport of boxing? Some of the biggest wins in Ali's career came against overhyped opponent's who were just average to above average

transcend meaning made him bigger than boxing. As in top athelete of their day..

Im done with it. Mayweather has had a bunch of wack fights that people got behind hoping he'd lose. thats it thats all

First off it wasnt just the fights that made Ali transcend the sport if anything the fights themselves were a minor reason. Ali's mouth, him being Muslim with ties to the Nation, him going to jail , the time period itself (civil rights movement), boxing being in a golden age , and the passage of a several years itself saw Ali's legend ascend to higher heights.

I still would like to hear what 5 Ali fights transcended the sport of boxing?

Nothing wack (to a actual fan of the sport of boxing) about watching someone with multiple PhD's in the "Sweet Science" demonstrate Nobel Prize level work in the field

With some of the responses in here, it's obvious that a lot of nikkas don't know boxing outside of Mayweather and that is one of the reasons why so many hardcore boxing heads throw shade on his career because whenever you try to educate some of these dudes about the great fighters in the past, they either dismiss or degrade them like they know what they're talking about.

Ali's 3 Best Wins...
1. Foreman - easily a top 10 greatest heavyweight of all time. (Ali was the underdog and stopped him, he didn't dance around to a decision)
2. Liston - Clay was the underdog in the 1st fight and made dude quit and then stopped him in the rematch
3. Frazier - One of the best pressure fighters ever. Ali beat him 2wice out of a trilogy.

All those dudes were certified beasts when Ali fought them and are easily in the top 20 of their division all time

Mayweathers Best 3 Wins
1. Corrales - Dude was a beast and was on a run and Floyd dominated the fukk out of him, although he was the slight favorite. Chico is HOF quality but not an all time great though
2. Oscar Dela Hoya - past his prime HOF boxer that Floyd beat in a competitive fight.
3. Mosley - past his prime HOF fighter that was still the best in his division when Floyd beat him

If nikkas would take off the fan glasses, it's easy to see that those Ali victories are much better than those Floyd victories, but I bet you somebody will still show their ignorance and try to dispute this shyt.
Floyd's skills are easily better than Ali's in my opinion, but that doesn't make him the greater fighter. The opponents you fight and how you beat them is what decides greatness.
