@SuikodenII im not saying overload the undercard but there should be a high level bout on the undercard...best example is the Sergio-jr card..we had rigo dishing out a masterpiece on the opener, then macklin knocking alcine the fukk out, with Martinez-beltran fighting a FOTY candidate before the main event...good undercard booking is needed for this card
No. The Rigo and Martinez fights were not competitive on paper. One followed protocol and the other didn't, simple as that. Macklin/Alcine was a dope match-up that ended up being a quick blow-out.
You are getting the mythical match of the generation and think that an unwatched, overshadowed undercard really means something? Know this, the vast majority of boxing fans can balk all they want, but they WILL cave in and buy this. This is not a "boxing" event. This is an event, period. Records will be broken, and not by boxing fans, it will be by the common public who are only interested in one fight. You would be wasting time and great potential match ups that will get NO replay on HBO or Showtime and be virtually unwatched by the mass public.
Hear me clearly, we, as boxing enthusiasts, are NOT the target audience because a fight of this magnitude will have our support despite fake internet outrage about an undercard being weak. Showcase some deserving guys who never get that HBO/Showtime love and if they show out, will get future TV time...
It's a bad idea to load the undercard. Save it for other dates.
