Alright, so who has manny defeated again? I remember when the media tried to hype up that whiteboy from bloody england. Can't remember the old chaps name, but Floyd dismantled him pretty easily. Then manny comes behind and defeats an already defeated fighter and the world goes "You see how many beat him better than floyd did"

Some people will never give one man the credit he deserves, while giving some undeserving bum all the credit in the world. Yeah, but that's just the counter to the long drawn out Mayweather vs Pacquiao debacle. At this point, wouldn't it be nice if someone just told 'em hey you're the #1 guy, you can't fight anyone else but the #2 guy. There's no reason to drag shyt out, you either fight him or retire.

That rarely happens in ufc also. They make up their rankings just like everyone else. Fighters turn down fights just like everyone else. But having one entity basically having a monopoly over a sport isn't good at all. It's a selfish and short sighted way of thinking. Wanted one boss to tell fighters who to fight and when shouldn't be comfortable for any black person whatsoever. You'd literally make the saying "high priced slaves" come true. But with a singular ufc type of model it would only drive the pay of the fighters down. They'd have no true alternative. If alternatives pop up then it'd most likely lead us to where we are now and people would be complaining about the good ol days or a current model where the number 1 and 2 fight always(supposedly). If you care about the fighters and their well being and being able to provide at all for their families, then you wouldn't be for the ufc model. It's crazy how people only care about their own personal entertainment without really thinking about the people truly delivering it. It's all about entertain me at all costs, no matter how you are treated or paid.

Arum: No Hard Deadline on Mayweather-Pacquiao Talks

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum is not placing a deadline on the serious discussions to make a May pay-per-view fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao. The terms are being worked out by Arum, HBO CEO Richard Plepler and CBS CEO Less Moonves.

Arum is getting concerned with the way the negotiations are dragging on and wants to complete the negotiations sooner than later. Mayweather's first fight with Marcos Maidana was not announced until the end of February, so this is not unusual for the pound-for-pound king as it relates to waiting until the end of the month to finalize an opponent.

"We’re just trying to complete the paperwork. Floyd has dug in to fighting on May 2 and every day it takes to finalize the fight it takes away from the promotion of it. Now there’s no hard and fast deadline. Not one of the remaining points are too big to overcome,” Arum said.

Arum did not discuss the outstanding issues between the two fighters. They have agreed on the drug testing with Mayweather's choice of USADA, using the MGM Grand as the venue, a 60-40 split in favor of Mayweather, the brand of gloves has been agreed upon, promotional details connected with the tour is not in dispute either.

One of the concerning points between the networks is known, with both battling over the terms for the delayed broadcast of the joint pay-per-view. When HBO and [CBS-owned] Showtime united for the Mike Tyson-Lennox Lewis pay-per-view in 2002, the winner of the match earned the delay for his contract network. This time HBO wants both networks to have the delay.

Mayweather, Pacquaio and the Filipino's adviser Michael Koncz held a meeting last Tuesday in a Miami hotel room and there was progress made. Koncz and Pacquiao walked away from that meeting with a positive outlook on the fight actually happening.
