Kirk was out a year and a half. Though at this point doing that seems to be the norm with Kirkland and you never know what direction his career is going to take. Despite his regular long layoffs, trainer issues, and just turning down good money for quality fights, it seemed liked Kirkland had turned his ring focus back after the Ishida fight.

I don't know if Andrade really got black balled, dude turned down some fights for career high paydays and in Dan's chats he has hinted that Andrade has told him he regrets turning down those fights because it has hurt his career. I remember hearing Andrade negotiated himself out of those fights wanting more money.

You didn't imply this, just saying in general, Canelo has proven so far he won't duck anyone. If a fight vs. Andrade is possible at 154 or 155, I have to assume Canelo would take it.

that was an exciting match but it still was a mismatch, everyone was more of rooting for kirk but knew realisticly that he had no chance .

canelo-kirkland hit a chord with ppl..for whatever reason...keep in mind..it came after the may-pac fight which soured a lot of ppl on boxing..personally that fight made me sad because kirkland was not in the right condition overall to face canelo...but nikkas were feeling that fight..shyt all you have to do is look in the fight thread for it..had no undercard and went 3 but it was a lot of replies

this is a legit FOTY...those 2 went ham for 12 rounds..one of HBO's boo-boos this year was not airing this card and esp this fight

id compare it more to currently rios vs bradley in terms of competitiveness....because i feel a properly trained kirkland would have made shyt hot for canelo just as if rios was in better condition he would have given bradley more of a fight..just my opinion though
