FLOYD MAYWEATHER COMMENTS ON RONDA ROUSEY ON COVER OF RING MAGAZINE: "THE SPORT IS STARTING TO LOOK BAD"
By Ben Thompson | November 10, 2015

"Well, you know, congratulations, but you know the sport is starting to look bad when a female fighter from a whole other sport is on the cover of a boxing book," stated retired undefeated former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who shared his thoughts on UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey being featured on the cover of the latest edition of Ring Magazine. The move drew harsh criticism from diehard boxing fans and some members of the media, especially considering that Rousey's next opponent is decorated former three-division boxing world champion Holly Holm. In fact, you'd have to go as far back as 1978 to find the first and only time a female boxer, Cathy "Cat" Davis, was featured on the cover of the magazine. According to Mayweather, the fact that Rousey is on the cover is simply proof that things aren't going quite as well as they may seem for Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya, who acquired the magazine nearly 8 years ago.

"You gotta realize this, we all know Oscar De La Hoya owns the Ring Magazine. That shows you; he has no fighters but Canelo. Basically, it's like he's trying to steal her from Dana White. Richard Shaefer, he built Golden Boy from the ground up, helped them make tons and tons of money, and what did this guy do? This is real talk, how can Canelo or any fighter hold their head up high and say, 'You know what? I'm proud for Oscar, a guy that dressed in drag and been on coke.' I mean, the world knows this. How can you hold your head up high and say, 'You know what? I'm proud for this person to be my promoter'," Mayweather explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "A guy that's going to promote me as a fighter, I want them to care about my well-being when it's all said and done. The promoter should be able to make money, but when it's all said and done, the talent should win, and not just having their hand raised after the fight. Financially, the fighter should win."

You mean the guy that gave you your very first HUGE payday? :sas2:
The guy whose name is on most of your check from that time until you retired? :sas1:

Lets keep it funky, there is no Money May without ODH.

Floyd being real judgy right now. Sounding like a woman.

this has alot more to do with the shyt thats happened since oscar retired, the amount of greasy shyt oscar talked over the years probably soured their relationship greatly. i dont blame him to be honest, while that may be true, that was 2007, since he retired oscar has been trying to live vicarious through other fighters to defeat floyd and its always turned out badly. after awhile i would be tired of someone trying to hold some bullshyt like that over my head "without me losing to you, youd be nobody" fukk you. Floyd made floyd at the end of the day, because after oscar, he still made even more money, you cant argue with that. and i loved oscar, for real. i always enjoyed and supported him with the exception fo the mayweather and the 2nd mosley fight where if felt he lost.

Nope. I fully disagree. Floyd earned the payday. It's not like Floyd was a nobody. Oscar also made a huge list of demands and Floyd had to swallow it all and gave in on all and everything. Oscars name was not on his check it was always Golden Boy which was in reality run by Schaefer and Haymon.

You neegas love to throw curved balls around here a while lot.

I didn't say he didn't earn it but he aint self made.

I'm not even saying he would be nothing without Oscar but he's not where he is today without that fight. Who else on Arum roster would be worth fighting after he decided to be a free agent?

The worst thing to happen to this sport was for this loudmouth double talking ass nikka to go undefeated.
