Canelo would love to fight Floyd again. He wants to be remember as not only a great fighter but also as a great boxer and what better way to do that than to beat the best boxer of recent times. He also knows that beating Floyd might finally win him respect in Mexico, cause even though he has found respect in the USA, in Mexico he's still view as a pampered fighter.

care to expound on the bolded a little?

In Mexico Canelo became famous thanks to Televisa (mexico's biggest TV network). He didn't
really had to grind out he's recognition with great performances like most mexican boxers have to do,
and even though he has broken ties with Televisa people still think he's full of air.:skip:
It doesn't help that he's never been in a war (:sas1:), he has never won in convincing fashion against
the best fighters he has faced (:sas2:), he doesn't have a signature fight to his name (:francis:), and he got dominated by Mayweather when all eyes were on him :scusthov:

I personally like the kid, I think he's a good fighter, but if he's gonna get the love he wants from Mexico, he's gonna have to go to war with GGG or beat Money May because an other fight against little Cotto is not gonna help his cause.

The viewership numbers he puts up in Mexico alone says you're being dishonest:mjpls:

I recognize more elsewhere: 'Canelo'

Alvarez received the scepter 'Diamante' WBC hands of Mauricio Sulaiman

Saul Alvarez was proud the "Diamond" belt (World Boxing Council (WBC), then applause at the Museo Soumaya flooded the place but were not sufficient for the Middle Champion.

"Canelo" smiled the achievement, but did not understand why enjoys greater prestige and fame in other parts of the world rather than Mexico, native country in the Middle Champion.

Alvarez revealed that winning the scepter valued at $ 50,000 shut the mouths of his detractors, and hopes to continue demonstrating the quality of his fists against the best rivals in 2016.

"I do not know why that, I'm just more recognized elsewhere here," said the Guadalajara fighter.

Alvarez received on Monday the scepter "Diamond" which establishes him as one of the best fighters of the moment; after receiving the recognition, Guadalajara thinks big bags and this year could be consecrated as the Mexican idol ensogado missing today, if the Kazakh Gennady Golovkin expires in September.

"Yes in my plans, the fight against Golovkin give hope for September and give a fight that people expect I'm ready to fight anybody," the Mexican fighter.

"Canelo" will start training from next week's "Big Bear" California ; soon he will announce his opponent which will face next May 7 in Las Vegas , Nevada.

^^^^He's saying he's more recognized/loved in America than he is in Mexico.

Floyd Mayweather says the same thing, because it's true Floyd is loved & respected much more OUTSIDE of the United States than he is in America. Same boat for Canelo. You don't sell out baseball stadiums if you aren't loved & respected by many Mexican fans though....and the crowd in San Antonio/Vegas are always predominantly Mexicans when Canelo fights, even against Floyd.

Besides, regardless of what he "feels" , he's still the most popular and recognized fighter in Mexico today......the ratings he puts up in Mexico alone are outstanding:

Saul Alvarez Generating Huge TV Ratings in Mexico - Boxing News
Canelo beats Chavez Jr. in Mexican TV Ratings War, Fights Generate Astounding Numbers – theboxingtribune.com
Floyd-Canelo sets Mexican TV ratings mark

And I could keep going:sas2:

People in Mexico don't give a fukk how much money Canelo makes :bryan::bryan:it's a different culture.

he can make a billion and still not get the respect that he seeks. Canelo wants to be a Mexican great and the only way he's gonna do that is to fight the best and be convincing in victory or defeat. So far he hasn't done that in the eyes of the Mexican public.

You need to understand the money he makes, the hoes he fukks, and the cars he drives is for TVNOTAS and Pati Chapoy and them. In Mexico boxing fans only care about what goes on in the ring.

Its time for Floyd to either be content in his retirement and shut the fukk up or un-retire. All this jibber jabber has grown tiresome.
He aint retire fully he retired to take time and have surgery to recover from his injuries and see if his body still feel good enough to continue; which forced bytch nikkas like Khan and Thurman who sat on the shelf waiting for a payday to fight and build their name to a ppv level and not a easy lottery ticket; essentially they were fukking up his money.....

Floyd gets to play everybody else game....There is a reason he fought a Berto why ruin a Thurman, or over hyped bum nikka now

I think this drives Floyd crazy a little bit. Even though Canelo took the L, he rarely talks about Floyd. Deep down draining him to 152 has Floyd a little :patrice: about the win.

:whoa::whoa: Even though he won clearly and fair and square, deep down Floyd probably is like, "I should have just beat that dude at 154 :snoop:" Now that Canelo is the face of boxing, when Floyd is gone Canelo can say he was too young and drained and the masses will believe it because it will always be "anybody but Floyd" and Floyd won't be able to do anything about it.
All sorts of catch 22s.

Best move for Floyd would be to not fight him again, win or lose.
