Trump Accuses GOP Rivals of Planning to Cheat in IA Caucus
Here we go again.
Trump issued a video on Tuesday night urging his supporters to turn out to vote for him in the upcoming Iowa Caucus. Trump being Trump, he couldn't just leave it at that. Preemptively accusing someone of cheating has been Trump's move in every election, and this time is not different:
"To our wonderful caucus county captains, thank you for all that you're doing. We really appreciate it. Lock in your '10 for Trump' and turn them out for your caucuses. Take them in your car on caucus night if you have to. Do whatever is necessary. Do whatever it takes. If you do, we will win. We will win big and that's what you have to do. You know the other side does cheat, and we're not gonna let that happen. We cannot let that happen. That's what we need from you. Work hard, get a lot of people down and caucus."
This is a pattern for Trump. He
accused Ted Cruz in 2016of stealing the Iowa caucus through fraud. Trump
also accused Hillary Clintonof planning to steal the 2016 election. In June 2020, he started claiming that if he lost the election that year to Biden it would be because of cheating.
