It should also be noted he’s not just going after Disney he’s going after every single special district in the state. It’s a fascist power play and once again people aren’t paying attention to see what’s actually happening here

I haven’t had a chance to do the research yet, but if I’m not I’m mistaken, The Villages is a special district too. And since they were established AFTER ‘68, his bill is targeting only such entities that were built before that time. Basically excluding them.. you know.. because they’re like 98% conservative old ducks that live there. Bunch of STD infected old racist fukks that don’t give a shyt about anything that’s non white. I used to go to the villages every day, when I delivered shingles for homes that were being built. People couldn’t even go anywhere to eat at lunch break, because of how nasty they’d look at you.

There are six Disney resorts in California, Florida, Tokyo, Paris, Hong Kong, and China with a total of twelve parks. They are:

Was this a joke a response?

:manny: Nobody would blame Disney if they move their corporate offices to Los Angeles
Their corporate office is in LA. :russ:

Once again none of you are paying attention. Disney has over 2 billion in debt. If this is successful the debt will be forced on to the tax payers of Orlando city that Desantis has had issues with. He’s weaponizing a private companies debt to punish a local government and its citizens. This will never actually happen but they will force Orlando to pay the debt and fukk tax payers
Now THIS is interesting and makes sense.

:patrice: Interesting. How did you come up with that conclusion. I'll admit I haven't followed this don't say gay bill.

Gov. DeSantis' Feud With Disney Could Push $2 Billion of Debt On Taxpayers - Inside the Magic

The Reedy Creek Improvement Act essentially allows Walt Disney World to reside in Florida unregulated, acting as its own “government” in a way. The act involved creating a special taxing district that acts with the same authority as a county government. The legislation made the claim that landowners within the Reedy Creek Improvement District, primarily Walt Disney World, could be allowed to be solely responsible for paying the cost of providing typical municipal services like power, water, roads, fire protection etc. Local taxpayers, meaning residents of Orange and Osceola County, would not have to pay for building or maintaining those services.

It they went through with dissolving the district, the bolded would be on the tax payers now too.

Push back at Disney for what exactly? No one can figure out what Disney did wrong here. They still donate to all of these politicians including Desantis. They said mean empty ass words in the media while doing absolutely nothing to stop the bill? Now they're being punished by *checks notes* potentially offloading 2 billion in debt to the taxpayers?

People really don't pay any attention to this shyt

O well, but you also can't alienate a large portion of your customers or then you're losing more than just money on a screen that will eventually bounce back. Market's been all over the place this year in the first place. Do you understand how many LGBTQ people consume Disney products? It would be suicide to come out in support of the bill. I get that y'all hate these fukking people for no damn reason but Disney is getting what they want.Getting rid of that 2 billion in debt is more important to them than stock price. Like I said, many of y'all aren't paying attention.

It’s been the worst performing stock on the Dow this year and it’s only gotten worse since they came out about the bill. These corporations have to answer to their investors, where many could give 2 shyts about politics.

We’ll see if the bill goes through tho
