Florida Folks: Why hasn't UCF Athletics made it big?

I mean UCF has the 2nd largest enrollment in the US; It's in a great place like Orlando. It should be a young male recruits dream as I imagine that with that with large enrollment and location the females are prime.

The campus looks great from the pictures I saw...

Not extremely large but really nice athletic facilities..

What's holding them back???

I've only visited Orlando so school me. Are Gainesville and Talhasse that much better the Orlando. I know you can't break the allure of FSU and UF.

There are close to 60 thousand students that go to UCF. Commuter school or not you have to see a ton of bad chicks on a daily basis.

Conference affiliation didn't stop Boise State. However CUSA is wack conference.

USF is doing ok. They aren't great but they've had more recent success compared to UCF and they've only been playing FBS for a few years.
