Do the Conservative people who post this stuff really want to be held criminally or financially liable for retweets or posting?

I’m not sure they really want to take this to its logical conclusion.

There's no such thing. When you control every branch of law, you don't need to worry about any conclusions or outcomes. Only those who don't do.

You mean government?

Not really. Even most conservatives realized you have to couch terrible law in some kind of reality. They haven’t just overturned Roe v Wade. They just chipped away at it with restrictions.

Conservative judges appointed by Trump threw out his own cases cause they didn’t make sense

How does a state law have this kind of power over a private company that operates globally?

Couldn't Twitter just not operate in Florida or Texas? Like block everyone in Florida since Florida is trying to make them illegal in Florida?

Besides basics questions like that, what is wrong with Republicans? The cryingist ass babies I ever seen.

And so attached to Trump. My goodness. No more talk with them. They are obviously full of 7 kinds of shyt and will stop at nothing to get their way. They no longer are part of the American system of democracy.

As white people don’t get everything they want, they will toss aside everything they have been claiming to believe in for the last few hundred years.

Private what? Free hand of The Who? :hhh:

The social media bill coming up in Texas takes the next step & is actually gonna follow the advice that Clarance Thomas gave in his opinion in the recent "Google vs. Oracle" SC case to make the social media apps common carriers:

the republicans don't want ISP's to be classified as common carriers but want tech companies to be?! :mindblown:

I vaguely recall that years ago a state or municipality had approved public funds for faith-based schools thinking they'd funnel a lot of money to private christian schools but then they realized that muslim schools would be entitled to funds as well since they couldn't legally discriminate against them and they bushed it. :mjlol:

They want those Trump voters who were attracted to his faux populism message but since the party is at its core anti-populism they are trying to turn the tech companies into the boogeyman that Republicanism is fighting for the little guy.

But since they didn’t stop these large corporations from gobbling up these small companies for monopolies they can’t attack Facebook without attacking Disney.

this could very easily backfire on them.. google censors a lot of stuff especially pirated sites and pushes legitimate online marketplaces to the top of their search results.

I got a feeling google has 1st amendment protections for it's search results. You put a query in a search engine and you get a response based on the algorithms design by it's programmers.

Google might fund the opposition campaigns of the politicians supporting proposals like this.

I said it in February

:sas2:

The anti- big tech is the new rally word for fighting liberals and intellectuals.

They can invoke Trump’s name without actually being about him.

Of course using his name could just make Republicans want Trump since they won’t convict in the Senate.
