oscar worthy breh?

IMO..I wouldn't be surprised if it did...especially Denzal cuz he really drove the movie...

But here is the thing that didn't sit well with me about that...

It had to take Denzel playing a slave, and a crooked cop to win a Oscar...but didn't win one for playing a Civil rights hero..:smh:...So IF he gets nominated for being a drunk that threw his life away...:scusthov:

I mean it was a different role for him..but at the same time...I kinda hate it when he does roles like that...

But that's just me..

Who did he lose Malcolm X to?

Seen the movie, 8/10, Denzel did a great job. Hearing he's a for sure nomination along with Joaquin and Daniel Day Lewis. Movie had a good sense of humor as well. Wish there was more John Goodman, homie stole his scenes. Great cast and movie all around.

Great movie, Denzel's best performance since the Hurricane

most interesting thing about this flick is the fact that Denzel probably would've crashed the plane if he wasn't high on coke. I've heard cokeheads talk about how they feel extra bold, confident and invincible when they're high and Denzel probably wouldn't have had the balls to "roll" the plane if he was sober. the fact that he did lines to offset his drunkenness at the end before his hearing reinforced this

John Goodman killed it. every scene he was in had the audience rolling. *dead* at him calling the security guard Ceelo

that plane crash might go down as the GOAT in movie history. the way it was filmed was incredible

the whole audience was pissed when Denzel ended up grabbing that bottle in the hotel

RIP to the Latina stewardess, but got damn, dem titties :steviej: :my man:

i see a lot of people thought the ending was too preachy, from what I've seen online. I thought it was dope though. especially that last question from his son.

great movie, and I'm glad Zemeckis stopped making that motion capture bullshyt and returned to live action movies. don't think Denzel will beat DDL but he's def getting a nomination, and well deserved. after playing the same role for the past 5 movies, good to seem him play a real character with real flaws

I liked the end end, not the part prior to it though lol but I thought they closed it of well.

The Spanish broad was nice but the white girl was fine too.

Looking back at Denzel's 5 last movies, Safe House (haven't seen it but going to this week), Unstoppable (looks terrible), Book of Eli (same as previous), Pelham 123 (was ok), The Great Debaters (this was ok). Correct me if I'm wrong with any of the statements.

Before that was American Gangster which I think is the last great role he did. Just curious, for the recent garbage roles, did he get 20 mill contracts like Will Smith?

Saw it last night with my girl. Had me:to: a little bit. Hit a little close to home sometimes. I agree with the poster that said this is probably his best great role since American Gangster.

Saw it yesterday. Great movie. Only complaint i had was the nasal sounding cac sitting in the row behind me who kept giving play by plays to his cac girlfriend (prob his sister) of what he thought was happening or was going to happen next.

Almost every tense scene had his Fogel/McLovin voice hypothesizing and shyt, whispering all giddy like but ultimately being loud as hell

I know everyone in my row (upper middle section) had to have had the :wtb: on at some point
