I can't tell if people see The Black Album as a classic or not in the rock community.

I’m not a rock head by any means, but I think it’s probably looked at like Nirvana’s Nevermind. Classic but some people think it’s not as good or not classic because they think it’s a sellout thing because there was a style change. I’ve heard both sides.

Yeah, I could see that. That was the album that made them superstars and gave them some mainstream appeal, but there was definitely going to be backlash for going in that direction. It's almost like their own It Was Written.
