True.

Everyone has their own process, but what I'm talking about is getting away from this, 'it's easier, so I like it" thing. If we're being honest, that's why so many people want to make music now. Because they think it's easier to do today. When we see those Rhythm Roulette episodes, you can see who really knows how to produce and who doesn't. It takes years to get nice and to learn all there is to know. That's not gonna be an overnight thing. So what I'm talking about is going with the best tools to learn on, but also using what will help to transition to the pro level and working with pros.

So if you're making music for yourself, then that's perfectly fine. But what I'm talking about is something different. It's not just my journey. You look at any legend and speak to them about the process or take advice from any of them, they'll say the same. There's a reason why certain DAW's and hardware have the reputation they have. They're proven to be the best for what I'm pointing out. You have to learn sh*t, if you're serious about it. Output is only a piece of what this is about. There ain't no rushing to greatness.

@Awesome Wells

I'm interested to know your background, what city were you born in, and how you're involved in studio work and any other significant moments or "wins" you've acquired in studio work and hip hop culture.

Metro made millions off of FL Studio as well as alot of others:manny:

Plus he didn't just stick with FL Studio he makes beats using MPC's as well as live instrumentation.
FL ain’t the end all be all but it’s great for the price and what it does. Try making beats in Pro Tools and see if you get that same effect.

I'll admit I haven't used FL in like 15 years but the issue I always had was sequencing loops and building a track never really felt natural. But just messing around with a simple loop was the best on there

I've been a Native Instruments/Maschine diehard since

7? The new one is 4. That's crazy:dahell:
Not sure if I'll get tomatoes thrown at me, but a better way of getting access to the SP filters without that price, is buying an Emax sampling unit/rack - I believe it uses the same analog filtering - and then MIDIng it to a sequencer of choice... They used to go for a fraction of the price

Yeah, he has the OG ones in there. The grey joints from back in the day.

He's a repair shop too. So he cleans them and makes sure they're all good before you cop. Dude basically has all the vintage gear from way back, but he buys too. So if you wanted to cop something, you can sell whatever, and use that as credit to get something else. I've been going there for years because you get a chance to actually see what you're getting in person before you spend. It's really dope.

I own a Baldwin Ike (basically an Emax sold under a different name) and 2 Sp's and they sound very close, you are correct.

Ahh that's a beauty congrats, I wanted one of those

I copped an Emax SE Rack and flipped it a few years later. I didn't have the patience to stick with it but those filters sounded incredible

His prices aren't:mjlol:

I mean, sometimes you gotta pay a little more for the classic sh*t. LOL!!

Thing is, he repairs the equipment for free too, if you cop from him. So if anything goes wrong, you're all good. I never had to take anything back to him though.

Is this better than pro tools? Also is the lowest price ($180) good enough? :jbhmm:
Everything other than FL studio is better than pro tools. PT is dated like a mf. I prefer anything over it but Studio One has been the best one for me so far. Uses less resources too
