FL Studio audio wave/sample stretching question

I've been chopping samples using the Edison VST and could previously grab the edge of the chop and stretch it to match the beat and it would be manipulated accordingly, i.e. taking a two bar sample and making it 4 bars and twice as slow.

All of the sudden in one session it stopped doing this. If I try to pull the edge it just makes blank space and the only way to change the length is by adjusting the time of it. I asked my homie about it and he said that's just how it is but I'm pretty sure there's a way to get it back how it was.

Help me out brehs

In the playlist, there's a clip focus selector just beneath the drop-down arrow (aka the Playlist Menu) near the "Playlist Snap Selector" icon. Look at #10 in the picture below to identify it. Go to the clip focus selector, click on the audio icon, then select "Stretch."
