There is a working class in Detroit... it's in transformation at the moment.. the Auto industry that built the mid class in America is still here... and millions are employed by that...

But these investors and funds aren't coming with no infrastructure and working class in mind. Nearly all the abandoned building downtown are being rebuilt. Drive around and you see new developments every where. My neighborhood filled up with young professional educated CAC within a period of 3 years... it's disgusting, minus the hippy hoes.

This isn't an empty movement.

actually most of the work forces in those cities come from outer city limits. not sure why you don't think companies will come to a rich playground funded by elite foreign investors?

Yup everyone here is the idle rich or on welfare.

It's about infrastructure, quality of life, safety and services. Detroit has none of those things.

There is a wealth gap here..... rich people and very poor... but there will always be a middle class due to industry.

All infrastructure is improving... quality of life... safety is already fixed in most areas that matter (to cac) , ... so all crime will be on eastside and some parts of the west.

Michigan has always had a crazy educated population. For the most part professionals have left because lack of opportunity.... now they are coming back, plus Detroit is attracting talent from all over the US.

You should visit midtown and downtown Detroit --- IT IS NOT the way I would like for Detroit to improve - but basically it's now a 'cool' place for young professionals.. and madd asians and cac are flocking. young black females are as well.. There is some young black dudes, but not really too many.

@Poitier I'll do some typing later, I honestly don't feel that way at this time. Most people I know who live in each city are working professionals including Dubai. It's important not to confuse the image with the reality. Also as far as NY and London each have a large civil service that are solidly middle class by their cities standards.

@Blackking seems like a dramatic shift, I'm on the run right now but will get back to you later.

Comparing the NY, and London of now to anywhere isn't an easy sell. Most cities are currently undergoing a large shift in their sociology. NY, London and a few other cities may be the model, but they aren't the norm.

Don't understand how America works. There isn't an investor from China to California with real money who isn't putting it into Detroit.
NTM IT companies (as in all the major ones) are putting locations in Detroit.
Madd young professional CAC are flooding into Detroit.

They aren't doing this for no reason...
