While I agree with her thesis, just being in a kid's life doesnt make you a good father it makes you father, why was it brought up? Not only that, but it seems like he has raised some good kids. Thats ridiculous.

I agree. It is pretty disrespectful to black fathers when people use the "black father" narrative to prop Lavar up.

Those types of comments are based on the assumption that in general black men aren't a present, positive influence in their child's lives and Lavar is some type of shinning example or anomaly.

Also it denigrates all the work and success black fathers have with their children that may not result in them going to the NBA or getting espn interviews.
