Another thing, id argue that, rather, the bar is set so low for black empowerment that LaVar Ball is being uplifted on false pretenses. Supporters of LaVar act as he's some sort of oppressed wage slave, bucking the system for his share of the pie.
When there is nothing that has been expressed by LaVar, either by himself or in his brand ethos to demonstrate that BBB is nothing more than a money grab. Other than overblown or outright lies on how great Lonzo is and how wearing BBB makes you a "big baller"...has Lavar articulated any good reason to wear his apparel? Is there some particularly good athletic technology/design present?
Has he expressed at any point that he's doing this for "black ownership" and "to set the tone for players and their families to have more ownership/leverage of their brand", or are you nikkas just projecting your own frustrations and fantasies of Black empowerment onto him?
Dont get it twisted: theres nothing inherently wrong with money grabs. We live in a capitalist society that was built on money grabs.
But lets call it what it is. Not pretend this nikka is Marcus Garvey.
And to take it further, lets stop acting like pro Basketball players are charity cases either. There a bigger and better case to be made of getting the chinks who make the damn shoes better pay and conditions than paying these athletes more.
