From what I understand it was more about the bar being set so low with the narrative that black men don't have fathers in their lives and that cats like Lavar are looked at like Unicorns and shyt which is ignorant and true. Lavar being put on a pedestal for simply doing what he is supposed to do...take care of family. That same narrative isn't directed towards white cats. It's ridiculous.

This is true. But on the other hand, black father's have less wiggle room to fukk up. If a black man's son gets in trouble people blame the dad, but a white father is not gonna be blamed. So it's fukked up either way.

With that said, her stance should be more of a learning one than a teaching one, but just like everybody else, she's entitled to her opinion.

And again it's not like she pulled the topic out of her ass. Every convo about Lavar leads to people saying something to the tune of "you're just not used to seeing a strong black father". Hell, I'm sure that line has been aimed directly at her at some point. So, no, she's not out of place giving her opinion on a narative that's been presented to her.
