Exactly. I'm torn on this movie. Tarantino is thorough with his films. I've never been disappointed. But I dont think I'm gonna check it. Why do we always need to have the white savior in these type of films? From The Help, The Blindside, Dangerous Minds, to even the last movie Foxx was in - The Soloist. The poor old disadvanteged blacks or the troubled genius cant succeed or isnt validated until the white character's cape starts flapping to swoop in and save the day.
He wants to show a REAL slave revolt? Why wont he do a film about Nat Turner? Or since he likes to rewrite history so much like in Inglorious Basterds, he should show what would happen if Denmark Vesey's revolt actually went through.
