You're right they're essentially the same player but in retrospect its at least a good pickup depending on who we give away.
I'm still fine with grabbing John Henson if that were still an option btw

Why is everyone so negative in this thread?
This is one of the better Raptor seasons ever and the team has been great over the last month and is basically a shoe in to win at least a round in the playoffs, but every page of this thread is just filled miserable bitterness.
Easily the worst team thread on the coli.

I ask myself this almost every time I come in here. There are only 3 teams in the entire league with a better record than the Raptors have right now. EVERY team has bad losses and bad performances from players on any given night. The hate-filled personal attacks on the players in this thread are over the line.
Personally I'm loving this season. We can go 14-15 for the rest of the year and get 50 wins, our stated goal before the season started along with winning a playoff round. More likely we'll surpass that. If we're a top 3 seed we will be heaviily favoured in our first-round matchup, and in good position for just our 2nd playoff series win ever and first since Vince Carter was here.
On top of that we have a young team and upcoming cap space to upgrade the team. Fields and Hayes will be gone after this season, and I'm sure Masai can get more out of those dollars than those guys are providing. Not to mention the extra 1st round pick we have next year. It's a good time to be a Raptors fan.

he provides a backup center which is good...but considering how often JV's minutes get cut and the fact he doesnt bring any new dynamic...meh
