Young Justice is the truth. It's the best DC animation that finally demonstrated the dynamic talent of DC superheros. We didn't get that with Batman and Superman animation. The cancellation of the show was a stupid move. I don't think we are ever going to get a great quality cartoon like Young Justice; DC is going to keep force feeding us Batman and Superman animated series :heh: I want them to create more stories for the other heroes in DC universe, damn it !! :damn:

I'm not gonna argue about "Batman: TAS". As great as "Batman: TAS" is, I've always felt it was overrated because the ENTIRE series (other than the occasional 2-part or 3-part episodes) is NOTHING but Standalone episodes.

I've always thought that the ONE thing the Superman cartoon did better than Batman was tell a complete story from end to end. We saw him coming from Krypton to losing the Earth's trust after being brainwashed by Darkseid, and ending the show on a downer note was a great way to go out. I wouldn't go and say that Batman was overrated - at this point, Batman's origin is so embedded into American culture that I can see why they didn't rehash it. That being said, seeing how they started experimenting with story arcs in Superman and then went all out with continuity with Justice League, it makes you wonder what could have been if most of the Batman TAS episodes weren't essentially one-shots. :manny:
When Aqualad got Artemis... :mjcry:

That uppercut from Aqualad to put down his father :ooh:

Wheres Wally? :damn:

Off the strength of this series, I'm watching Justice League, and will get into JLU afterwards. I didn't watch both of them at the time they originally aired. So I just saw this ep and came upon this part:

This is some genius level writing. I knew what was meant right away (well almost right away. At first when dude said by "your people" I thought he meant people from GL and Hawkgirls' dimension, but after seeing GL's reaction I then I knew what he really meant), but it's still a clever scene. Just 3 lines of dialog that says so much. Here's the exert from the youtube page.
In this episode of the Justice League, the team is projected into a universe where the heroes and villains speak and act in the Age of Innocence style prevalent in the 1950's. But with that innocence, there were also issues of abuse and racism that boiled beneath the surface.

While Jon Stewart seems to revel in this innocent attitude, there is a moment when he is reminded of the complex social problems beneath it while talking to The Streak. Watch his face when a seemingly innocent compliment is tossed his way right at the end.
