Not to offend anyone, but the coli is filled with a lot smart dumb people (not all, but a lot). Higher Learning has the same posters that post in the Locker Room and some of the same threads (they just don't have as many posts in them). The only sensible posters pretty much share my views (which gets hella boring). I've also found that Higher Learning isn't free from the same trolls who post in the Locker Room (they may simply tone it down a little, but it's still the same idiots). I go to HuffPo, The Root, and a few other blogs to actually discuss substantive topics online. Also, I am a phd student. On any given day, I have intellectually simulating conversations with actual smart people (in person, in class, hell even on Twitter with people I know) that can give me perspective on different issues.
In short, an intellectual conversation about the happenings of the world was never my purpose for visiting this site. Couple that with the fact that I often feel like I am wasting my time even trying to discuss anything of substance on here, I've personally given up.
I can't speak for the other ladies though.
