That Leviathan boss fight was rather brutal as there's little margin for error in the shield portion of the field, but I eventually figured it out :whew:

Not a bad DLC as it's not much different than the main game, but I highly doubt it's going to change the ending and could have been left out tbh.

Omega was definitely better.

1 year later, how are we feeling about this? :francis:

I thought it was mid to alright and playing Rebirth kind of made me double down on that but I do want to hop on give it another shot to test out NG+, the DLC and all the updates that I missed out on.:ehh:

Never finished the game. It was low key trash to me story and lorewise. Gameplay was meh, but it was excellent with the Summons
5/10

8/10 for me.

It was good...not nearly as good as FFVII Rebirth, but still good. But I was too preoccupied with that to try the latest DLC for this, is it any good?

It was way too easy. The combat was good not great. Any action based combat without being able to parry and evade like a Souls game takes away from the combat. The story was dope but the ending made me feel like I wasted my time playing it lol. It was like yeah I did all of this for basically nothing :martin: before completing it I would have scored it an 8/10 after beating it 7/10. The game being so easy and the ending lowered my initial opinions of the game.

Reflecting on the game, I still enjoyed aspects of it - the story, the characters, visuals and combat - but the overall experience was so shallow to me

I'm not really ready to accept Final Fantasy as a full-on character action game even if the combat was fun. They could've added meaningful gear upgrades/builds and ways to control your party a bit more

The DLCs were decent lore additions, but those bullshyt DPS boss sections added difficulty in a cheap way. The overall game was extremely easy aside from those moments which were infuriating and not fun IMO

I still love it. Beat the DLCs recently and the combat was fun to jump back into. Once you lock in on the mix of Eikons/abilities you want the gameplay is very satisfying.

Rising Tide DLC had one of the cheapest boss phases I've seen though despite the overall fight being one of the game's high points. I appreciate the time they put in voice acting all the side quests but I still think there's entirely too much dialogue. Didn't stop me from beating all of them :lolbron:

Still a 9/10 for me

Some amazing boss fights and icon battles. The story collapses because of the horrible antagonist and it leads to an unsatisfactory ending.

It was an ok experiment but hopefully they go a different route next game. 7.5/10 reflecting on it.

It was a great new entry for the PS5 as new FF entry
But Rebirth cleared this shyt by far

But if they had released this this yr or later then nah
shyt like FF17 if released on the PS5 would have to be miles ahead of both FF16 100% and rebirth too

Im finishing up the Rising Tide DLC and that’s it.
