"story" being ass is usually nothing as long as the characters and writing is done well. There's plenty of JRPGS I loved where the story could be summed up by bullet points and sound terrible.

You are right, but is square even thinking that? XIII was super convoluted and expected you to read a bunch of random shyt hidden in the menus to make sense of it. The Classic FF games all had rather basic stories but the experience and journey is what made it dope. Its just like Lord of the rings, the story was just a group of weirdos taking a ring to a volcano, basic as fukk, but the journey was where the money was. Hopefully they can bring it back to that style with this one.

This game will be a great experience as a whole. Too much focus on the narrative not being good. There's more to video games than that and it seems like FF has nailed a lot of it. I think the story will be straight personally. I'm digging the setting and direction it's taking.

I will have one thing to say though, if you are rushing through the game just to beat the story in a short time, you are missing quite a big chunk of what makes FFXV so good.

Hey DarkLordMalik, how do you find this game compared to XII and XIII?

Better than both for me. But I hated the narrative in XII and it was the most forgetful FF for me. God-tier gameplay in it though so there's that. Definitely not in my top 5 FF still.

FFXV is a different thing. It can't be considered as having a 'good story' but what makes it special for me is the whole journey of going through the game to reaching the end. I also really love the gameplay and combat system and I love that the game has a lot to offer in term of content. I can safely say it belongs in my top 5 FF.

FFXIII was terrilbe story wise with its overly complicated mythology and the gameplay got repetitive with the same enemy encounters again and again. It ranks as one of the lowest FF for me.
