they should just learn from their mistakes and make FFXVI the proper way without rushing it. No need to keep trying to salvage this game.I feel like this game has to have a sequel (prequel maybe?) It's too many questions left unanswered.

Just watch a quick youtube summary. It helped me a lot.Has anyone seen the Kings Glaive movie.
Supposedly it explains everything that is going on in the game and you're SUPPOSED to watch it before even playing the game.
You don't get what I'm sayin breh. I understand the story completely. What I'm mad about is the lack of story content shown to the actual player. Everything is revealed in an "oh and by the way" type of manner.Just watch a quick youtube summary. It helped me a lot.
That's the way role playing games are supposed to be. This isn't demon soulsThe major flaw of the combat is that you can just spam potions/elixirs and occasionally get bailed out by summons in tougher fights. There's no sense of danger when you can pop a curative instantly.
What was left unanswered? This game was designed not to need a sequel and I'd say it does a good job being self-contained.I feel like this game has to have a sequel (prequel maybe?) It's too many questions left unanswered.
I think what he's talking about is that when you use a potion the combat completely stops. In traditional rpgs you have to time when to use your potions. It's all a part of your strategy. In FFXV it's cheap. You run up, attack like mad and just before you run out of your first life bar, you take a potion and keep going. I'm a huge final fantasy fan but this game had mistake after mistake for me. I wasn't aware of how bad the game was until I beat it.That's the way role playing games are supposed to be. You don't need to watch Kingsglaive to play this game because the game tells you all you need to know about it at the beginning of it. There was a peace treaty signing and Niflheim invaded and took over Insomnia at it. King Regis died in the attack. The Crystal was taken.i don't think Kingsglaive is sufficient for the game. It feels like something that's not really apart of the game. Feels like a whole nother story in of itself.
Dude, you still have to use potions in certain ways. If you attempt to use a potion while in front of an enemy, you'll get knocked the fukk back. Plus, your total HP declines so over time, you'll die if your using your potions every 5 minutes.I think what he's talking about is that when you use a potion the combat completely stops. A sequel to me wouldn't make any sense at all especially with the way the story ends. It doesn't leave room for a sequel that would make sense without being forced imo.they should just learn from their mistakes and make FFXVI the proper way without rushing it. I agree with most of what you said except for the potions. It's cheap breh. I promise you I didn't get game over a single time in this game and used 3 Phoenix downs during my entire play through and that was at the boss fight in chapter 13.Dude, you still have to use potions in certain ways. I love the battle system honestly and could possibly the GOAT of any action game for that matter. Fights are almost like movies. One fight i';; never forget, i was fighting a bunch of magiteck nights. After clearing them, two fukking Dhordan's attacked (level 23 and 12). Me and my party are just level 10. After than intense battle, a ship drops like 2 mechs and a gang of soldiers on our head. shyt was amazing. Seamless as fukk too. Plus the graphics and sounds are amazing, all with minimal hiccups.
While the story is basura, the action and graphics of this game are top notch. GOTY easily right now.
I think you're misunderstanding the complaints. The overall plot makes sense, it's the fact that every major event happens off camera and you're informed in a sloppy "oh by the way" type of style. The stuff we do see is a rushed cut scene that plays at the most awkward times. It's very poor story telling. They should have given us some big moments. If this game was ff7 they wouldn't have shown you everything leading up to where Aeris dies and show you the actual death. They would have had you on another continent fighting a random monster, go to a camp and when you wake up, receive a message through the dog that tells you "oh by the way, Aeris died. You should be mad now".You don't need to watch Kingsglaive to play this game because the game tells you all you need to know about it at the beginning of it. If you want to see how it went down then you watch Kingsglaive but after watching it you won't really have any essential knowledge that adds much value to the game other than seeing how magic and the Ring of the Lucii work and getting to see Regis and Luna a bit more.
The protagonist and antagonist of the movie don't appear in XV some of the rogue gallery of XV make cameo appearances. Nobody else in the movie appears last I remember. The movie is basically filler for backstory in the game.
I quit using potions and just used elixirs. It solves that issue. I had so much money from selling stuff I maxed out all my potions and elixirs but seldom needed to use the potions. Honestly I didn't even really waste money updating the party's weapons much either. Didn't seem worth it.Dude, you still have to use potions in certain ways. Until you get the ring that can kill everything on the screen and just use an ether, do the move again, use an ether, rinse repeatI quit using potions and just used elixirs. It solves that issue. The battle system is broken in this game. If you want an example of a party based real time system that works play the Tales of series. Here you can't really command your allies and Prompto and Ignis die pretty fast. Once you learn the timing for blocks and counters no single enemy can really touch you. Unless you are overwhelmed with numbers the game is easy after that point. I didn't even really bother with magic. I mostly just did the bosses solo or with Gladiolus and let the other two stay down.
This is because 90% of this game is told only from the protagonist perspective. Normal games have cut scenes untethered from the protagonist's perspective to flesh out the story. This game has a few that follow Luna and that's only to really say she appeared in the game but almost all of what you see is what Noctis sees.I think you're misunderstanding the complaints.
