The real story kicks in during Chapter 9 and goes to Chapter 14. Chapter 9-12 are very short chapter 13 is a decent length but the gameplay is wack, and chapter 14 is short. The boss at the end of Chapter 13 is harder than the last few bosses. I beat the game at level 44 with no issues so depending on if you plan on playing post game content or just finishing the main story and calling it good that should define your strategy. Personally I wouldn't go into the last few bosses much higher than level 44-45 because they'll be far too easy. I think if you wanna do the post game stuff you should grind after you finish the main story. Some peeps here are already ridiculously over-leveled for the last few bosses.

I liked all the early chapters in terms of story. It gave you an old school final fantasy vibe. Think 3-9 is actually the high point in terms of story. Just going place to place, gaining power from mythical shyt so you can fukk shyt up. I worry bout fans of this series sometimes, thinking that these games had grand marvelous stories. They really didnt. N thats why 13 was terrible, it tried way too hard to be a good story rather than a good experience and journey. The later chapters flesh out the villains more and give you their general Final Fantasy nonsensical reasons for being evil, but its whatever, thats a series staple as well. Game also threw in a ton of stuff as homage to the previous games in the story, n if you missed all that you aint real :dame:

It is kind of lame that the Chapters felt really short but they did their job for me. And funny enough the one chapter that was long was the worst part of the game :manny:

:cape:stop it fam.
In Halo 1, there was maybe 30 seconds of fun that happened over and over and over and over again. And so, if you can get 30 seconds of fun, you can pretty much stretch that out to be an entire game."

Lol that's coming from a programmer . That's all you get from games is 30 seconds of fun with different weapons in different environments.. Maybe once you realize that you'll quit gaming.

The H
Beat it. Liked it a lot but didn't meet my expectations. Still haven't got a modern JRPG classic. It's a good game but I rank it with FF8. Pretty good 8-8.5 game.

People have beef with chapter 13 and rightfully so. That chapter worked for me in some ways so I'm not completely mad at it.

The finale was dope and I enjoyed it.

The story was just not told in a good way. It actually had a lot of FF elements and I liked them but it was so rushed I couldn't even follow everything and some things felt shoehorned in.

Going linear didn't do this game any favors. Linear parts had very dull looking environments. As much as people hate the linearity of FF13 they were beautiful to walk through and that wasn't the case here.

Music was really good but not enough standout tracks. But I liked what we did get.

I really liked the combat as well but as much I want the series to stay action based they need to do a better job incorporating party members, magic, and summons. To be fair that is hard to do. AI party members will always feel okay at best in a full action game. Worried for FF7 in this regard.

Endgame and final dungeon really saved this game for me after the linear parts where I was really down on the game.

Overall a good step in the right direction but Square has ways to go before they can drop a classic FF again.

messed around and got swayed by some of the initial impressions in this thread and copped up with the quickness .
I'm still pretty early in but......
I haven't seen the game over screen once brehs. sometimes I just hold the B button down and move the left thumbstick 360 degrees and still kill enemies brehs. shyt is like a car ride simulator brehs. and how does the game force me to "drive" manually and then I can't even drive off of the road or the lane even. they even hotkeyed a U-Turn button so basically I'm just holding down "Accelerate" for 3 minutes :mjcry:.

The freaks come out at night for real.

The Iron Giant had like 8 Bombs with him ready to explode. I took the bombs out but that sword of his is too much. He's menacing me. :martin:

And then I see a Coeurl later that night by itself. I creep up on and the red metre flashes and he's biting my face off. Then he waits for my team to close in on him and blasts us with his lightning. :mjcry:

I like the challenge of being leveled or under leveled.

If they keep all the magic, limit breaks and summons it will be fine

dont even bother driving manually and when you get the option to fast trip, just do it breh...shyt is a waste of time otherwise unless you just want to see the world or someshyt

You're an idiot and your lengths to go to bat for this game is ridiculous.

I really never played a game that wasn't..If you don't like the game get the fukk out this thread because people here like the game
