It was just unfinished. Super obvious playing through it. So many characters were underdeveloped and the plot was never fully told in the game. Even the movie wouldn’t help. It needed about 15 more hours of campaign to flesh everything it set out to do. Annoying because it’s a true classic FF tale and I think most fans would’ve enjoyed it it the story was actually told in the game instead of NPC info dumps.
