I used to listen to a lot but it slowly became fewer:
Battleship Pretension: Not really reviews of movies or even news, although they will talk current stuff at the top of the show, but just discussions about film or film related topics like their favorites, or what it means to be a film critic, or the importance of recognizing good acting in a film or the auteur theory. And every year they do an oscar show which is hilarious and they do a good number of best of podcast episodes in the beginning of the year. Highly recommend it to anyone.
Filmspotting: Definitely more critic based where they talk about a specific movie and then have a top 5 list that connects with that movie. So last week they reviewed Ex Machina and then did their top 5 movie houses. They'll also do sacred cow reviews of films that are thought to be great films like unforgiven or the breakfast club
Hollywood babble on: Kevin smith Ralph garman. It's funny. Nuff said
Fatman on batman: more Kevin smith. TV and movies as it relates to batman or comic book media in general. And his co host is an actual black writer who's worked on comics and in TV
Classic horror cast: they review classic horror movies. Really insightful.
Hey watch this with Paul and David: two guys talking about two TV shows every week. Good listen and hilarious
James Bonding: podcast dedicated to James Bond. They've reviewed every movie except never say never again and a few roger Moore flicks but they're getting there. They're both comedians so it's funny but they're also Bond nerds. I can relate
How did this get made
Junkfood cinema: a podcast devoted to cult movies cult actors and cult directors. Both hosts are writers, one a current critic and the other a former critic and the screenwriter of sinister. Last year they'd just talk about movies like maximum overdrive and the Warriors but this year they've gone with themes each month. For February they talked about blackploitation flicks or black actors who are slept on like joe Morton. For March they did march madness talking about movies about crazy people. And I believe they did the stepfather last Father's Day
I was there too: one of the hosts from
James bonding interviews a person or people from a classic or notable movie. He interviewed the woman pushing the baby carriage in the untouchables, the guy from the Apple Store in winter soldier and a whole group of people who were passengers on the bus in Speed. He also has pics on the site and one of the passengers is bad as fukk
Channel surfing: I still listen but meh
I used to listen to keepin it reel but just the news podcasts bore me now which is why I'm meh on channel surfing and listen purely out of habit and because Eric and Roth seem cool
