I was in Manila when Pacquiao beat Larios....the entire nation was going fukking nuts for him. It was the craziest national standom I've ever seen.
And Filipinos like basketball WAY more than they like boxing. Every slum has a court even when people living in boxes like six feet wide. If Linsanity had hit with a native Filipino, he would have had whatever he wanted there for life. There is definitely gonna be a baller coming out of there sooner or later, and he'll be instant Jordan-level popularity.

My old boss was a Basketball junkie, breh would go to Venice Beach on business trips and play until sundown
