nah, Public Enemies was just meh and whoever wrote that script did a terrible job...the Warren Oates' Dillinger film is far superior

To me Johnny's downfall is that he did his career in reverse: He took on challenging, riskier and more interesting roles early in his career, then after he got rich took increasingly lame, more commercial ones.

Whereas Matthew McConaghay has basically done the opposite and he's eatin good off it ...
