I'm no WWE stooge, but I would kinda expect them to be able to sell out a small venue for only their third show ever. They have the momentum. They're new and fresh. This ain't WWE running Raw for the 900th time in 5 years in the same market.

To me the fact they've been unable to sell out two shows in smaller markets is a pretty big red flag. Ya'll talk about the fact that they aren't supershows like All In. You're right, but they're about to start running a weekly TV show. I think this shows us that they need to run 3-4k venues at the most for their TV shows. It might even be worth finding their version of Full Sail or the old Manhattan centre as a home base for their TV show.

It's not surprising to me that a little show like FFTF didn't sell out in a place like Jacksonville.

All In, Double Or Nothing and All Out are all destination/statement/hallmark shows in major cities. Weekend events full of rasslin stuff and a fun city to explore. Fyter Fest and FFTF were one night event B- & C-shows run in B- & C-markets meant to tide people over until All Out & the weekly show. No dream matches, no major city or venue. That's why they were given away online for free. People on here have had higher expectations for these shows than AEW did themselves. The shows have been viewed as a success by AEW & TNT, so if it's making sense for them on a business side... good. The last two shows weren't knockouts, but I enjoyed them and hope they continue to offer these smaller shows for free on B/R Live in the future.

AEW will probably continue to be a draw in large smark markets where they can promote their shows as true "events", but I can see them struggling in smaller markets where they are left to the mercies of casual fans. They definitely need to be looking at booking 1,000-5,000 max seat venues when they start doing the weekly show or the optics are going to look really bad for them. I would love for them to think outside the box and hit up unique venues and do more amphitheater shows but I guess that will have to wait until next spring/summer now.

last month's Stomping Grounds pay-per-view, which only drew around 4,000 - 4,500 paid fans at the Tacoma Dome in Tacoma, WA, which can hold up to 18,000 fans with the production setup

In Layman's terms they've got enough positive things going to be a good promotion, but this notion that they'll be competition for the WWE is completely ridiculous.
