i don't see what the big deal is with this fifa/ireland nonsense. that's not corruption, it's an out of court settlement. if anything the irish fa settled for too little. fifa was smart to settle and give them 5m because it would be worse if ireland took them to court and somehow won.

Were they documented in the FAI books?

i'm sure it was or else the tone of the story will change. if the money went to the irish fa it's an out of court settlement. if it went to the head of the irish fa and other cronies then jail time will be in someone's future.

It was easy to throw darts at FIFA, Sepp Blatter and those corrupt CAF and AFC members, now the spotlight is being turned towards UEFA members. I have been reading that this Irish FA guy got the job handed down to him by his father , earns more money than the Spanish and Italian FA heads combined, makes more money than what the league of Ireland receives. There is also a German report about companies from that country reportedly agreeing to invest in various countries in exchange for votes. I won't be surprised if stories about Gregg Dyke also started getting reprized as people realize that problems in the game go beyond individuals and corruptible developing nations.

Fifa lawyers settled with Ireland...

Did they not think they could win that case?

Cause if they couldn't win that case...

These officials might go to real big boy prison for real...

Anybody know the firm or the name of some fifa lawyers...

These dudes coming off as pathetic...

i think they knew they would most likely win, but since nothing is guaranteed why risk it (and who knows what gets revealed in court when you obviously have a shyt load of dirty laundry) if you're rolling in the money. that just shows their arrogant attitude: "ahh throw some money at the leprechauns and tell them shut the fukk up."

Latest news: Germany gave weapons contracts to Saudi Arabia's military to get their vote in 2006. They shockingly beat South Africa 12-11 after the president of Oceania's confederation mysteriously abstained from voting (Blatter would've broken a tie in South Africa's favor).

South Africa was the heavy favorite and got robbed at the last minute.
