I've been going back & forth on when we should draft an edge rusher...I'm leaning toward one of the FRPs

Hoping to get Pitre (Baylor S) or Kyler Gordon (Wash CB) in the 2nd

Hoping to get Kenneth Walker (Mich St RB) or Smoke Monday (Auburn S) in the 3rd

Breh I keep watching Londons film he got a good catch radius and good hands but to me the separation and speed isn't there like that imo. At the NFL level I think he has a limited ceiling

I bet JJ Arthega Whiteside had similar tape to London

JJAW wasn't nearly as dominant and he didn't catch nearly as many balls

London hasn't scratched the surface of what he'll become...esp when he becomes an elite route runner, and not just a good runner

Do you think prime Alshon created separation? No, he was a big body who could make contested grabs...that's what we need opposite of Devonta

A receiver who can catch a 3rd & 5 against a physical, press corner with a LB in the vicinity when the QB only has a second and a half to throw against a blitz

Treylon Burks offers you size and athletic ability and more tho. Dude is basically a bigger variation of Deebo

Nah, Drake London isn’t JJAW.

One thing about JJAW that should have stood out as a red flag in college were that about 50% of his catches at that level were contested. That suggested that he couldn’t separate against college defenders, and was reliant on out-muscling them to catch balls. And if you can’t separate at the college level, you’re not going to be able to do it in the NFL.

I think Drake London had a contested catch rate somewhere in the 20s, but I’d have to look for that source again. In any case, he wasn’t dependent on them at all, like JJAW was. And sure, he’s not going to have a DB running three or five yards behind him like Tyreek Hill, but London is good at stacking defenders and creating throwing windows for his QB. He’s a wide receiver in the Mike Evans mold. He also has a YAC ability that JJAW could only ever dream of.

I like London more than Burks, personally, but they’re both good.

To get specific on our draft needs:

We need a power edge rusher opposite of Sweat (FRP) - Jermaine Johnson/Karlaftis/T. Walker

We need a rangy LB who is good in coverage and holds up against the run (should be FRP or 2RP, but knowing our draft history 4RP or 5RP :francis:) - Lloyd!!

We need a rangy S who can hold up in coverage in the deep middle and deep half of the field (2RP or 3RP) - Pitre!!

We need a CB who is comfortable playing man and zone (possibly anywhere from FRP to 4RP) - Sauce Gardner!!

We need a physical short to intermediate WR opposite of Devonta (hopefully FRP :lupe:) - Drake London!!

We need a power back for short yardage and goal line carries (3RP or 4RP) - Kenneth Walker!!

We need a QB that can throw accurately with anticipation ALL OVER THE FIELD :wow:

Eagles sign S Marcus Williams
Projected terms: Four years, $62 million | Per year: $15.5 million

GM Howie Roseman sees the potential for Malcolm Jenkins 2.0 here, scrapping the Band-Aids at safety for a durable long-term center-fielder. Williams, meanwhile, gets a payday that would've been more difficult in New Orleans.

Prediction from CBS, Williams or Bates are my top two targets in free agency :wow:

Call me crazy but if that Ivy League QB EJ Perry is still on the board late (like 6-7 rd) I would take a flier on him as a backup QB
he is faster than Hurts so if he had to play- you wouldnt have to change the offense
