Just got back from the Leimert Park rally in LA.
Whats really funny is they didn't want to send white cops for obvious reasons... and they didn't want to send black cops(if they even have any) so they sent asian cops to patrol the shyt.
I don't know... I just thought that was funny.
The news networks weren't really recording anyone speaking cause they know they aren't gonna use any of that shyt. They all started perking up when the crowd would chant an easy soundbite phrase like "No justice, no peace" though.
So, yeah.
Uh, what else... lots of lovely afrocentric ladies as is always the case. There was a good turnout of latino suporters, with the red armbands and all. I'd say 1/4th the crowd was latino, the total crowd being 150 - 200 something people... but it started at 4pm, I dipped about 5... so it will likely be a bigger turnout than that cause they were passing out candles and it isn't even dusk yet. There were some cacs there in the crowd, for sure, but some of them had notepads and were interviewing 'safe, camera-ready' protesters. So your milage may vary on that. I know for sure there was a couple snowbunnies in the mix that were there for the cause, but just about every white dude there was just somebody's cameraman.
