So why didn't you feel the need to bring your alien perspective into the fold? you said you knew this was a powerful issue.
One of the white people that cares about black people, one of the ones that wants them to get what's due to them, one that would never want to see them oppressed, ETC.
Do you feel you are one of those white people?
Also, what are your thoughts when you see blacks going back and forth with each other in these threads.....some even defending the cops?
"c00ns" ever come to your mind?
I knew it was, but again, I didn't feel the need to chime in.
Of course, I'd feel that I think everyone should be treated in the same light. All I can add is anecdotal as I can only relate things to my personal situation. I have very few white friends actually, I grew up in a diverse suburb of Northern VA. I hate to say the typical white boy card of "my best friend is black" but I can honestly say that, but it's deeper than that as that is my second family. They helped raise me when my dad (single parent) was away for work, trips, etc. My client base here at work is across the gambit from a racial perspective. All that being said, yes it would definitely be ideal to see black people get treated fairly.
"C00ns" coming to mind is a weird question to answer. I believe that everyone is entitled to an opinion and that it's practically impossible for a race/ethnicity to act as a one complete entity. But I think that in times when said group is being attacked and threatened (not just physically, but via media) that there are strength in numbers and that the more people that share an idea, the more attention is drawn to it. For a "c00n" I can't say what's "black" and what's not. It would be easy to say that if said "c00n" went down to the back woods of Missouri, chances are he's going to come across a racially charged situation (maybe not shot, but you see what I'm saying) and sadly it's just a reality. I think that if they say otherwise, it's just being ignorant. Again, it's a fukked up reality of the world we have, and change would be amazing to have an even playing field. So if that's the reality that we live in and you're in a unique situation, why fight against someone that obviously committed an atrocity?
