....Fuh Q.
In short, yes...it's real. I've lived in several "suburban" areas in St. Louis County and grew up on the Northside of the city near the JVL projects. Dellwood (which is a stones throw away from Ferguson), Jennings (a mile or 2 away from Ferguson), U. City, Country Club Hills, Velda City, Black Jack, and Florissant are hot beds for racial profiling and police brutality. These areas, to the average outsider, would seem to be quaint and calm however each have increasingly ramped up police presence due to the purging of city residents in the name of city revitalization (gentrification)Got a young homie who has been in STL for the past few years. He says it's hands down the most racist place he's ever been. Is his version of racism overstated or is it really that real?
I currently stay in a ducked off part of Florissant and it's peaceful in my neighborhood however, I'm never far away enough from danger, especially at the hands on a cop....
