Trayvon still on peoples minds. Jordan Davis still on peoples minds. Ferguson. Eric Garner in New York. The unarmed man in LA. The Wal Mart victim....a lot of these stories are right on the cusps of going viral at exactly the same time....we need to organize all of these incidences under one single rallying cry.

THAT'S when shyt really takes on a brand new meaning...when these movements begin to coordinate with one another.

The major media outlets are absolutely trying to ignore this...CNN and Fox in particular. We are all relying on the internet right now but if our voices continue to grow louder more people will be forced to face the reality in this country.

Right now I feel like....one story is just kinda overtaking the other. Eric Garner had steam, than there was a brief moment for the Wal Mart murder...now everything has shifted to Ferguson. We need a focus on all incidences at all times.

By 'handled' I meant the iniital reaction to the shooting (and even the verdict, to an extent). People basically 1. brought attention to it, 2. followed the facts of the case, and 3. tried to bring attention to/strike down a law that they believed lead to the situation happening in the first place. That's reasonable. They might not have liked the outcome of the trial, but j doesn't mean their response wasn't the appropriate one

Do we really think all this rioting is gonna influence whether this cop goes to trial, or influence the verdict for this cop? C'mon, now.....nikkas are just actin' a fool because they're angry that a cop shot another dude, and because they wanna do shyt that they normally wouldn't do. There's no other point to the rioting.....and there's better ways to deal with the anger about the situation.....

For the first part of your reply. People are definitely bringing the attention of this situation to the forefront... the facts are being documented, by THE PEOPLE all over IG and twitter/facebook. There are also protesters out there who are demanding answers. Everybody isn't rioting. You're beef is that they aren't waiting on their hands and are actually out in their communities not backing down. They have the right to protest and assemble. People are in their yards getting hit with tear gas. The way this is going down this time is far more organic than anything that ever happened with Trayvon. This has been like a live timeline, Trayvon's case/situation wasn't known of for a while after it actually went down. We have a lot of information, witnesses, pictures, testimonies, video etc etc etc...I'd say the response has been powerful.

You say there's no point in rioting... is there a point in marching? Especially when these people are unarmed in their communities peacefully protesting and getting hit with rubber bullets and tear gas? No point in rioting, but there will always be a reason for people to come together and stand for something and defend their homes.

The rioting/looting won't influence whether or not the cop goes to trial, but the information out there already will. And the fact that the people have already shown that they aren't backing down lets me know that shyt will only get worse if they don't proceed with legal action against the cop that is responsible.

FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Another witness to the shooting of Michael Brown, Jr. spoke to News 4 Wednesday.



Tiffany Mitchell, 27, said she did not see what led up to the shooting, but said she arrived right before the fatal shots were fired.

"As I was coming around, I heard the tires squeaking on the truck, and as I get closer, I see them tussling through the window. The kid was pulling off and the cop was pulling in," Mitchell said.

Mitchell told News 4 she saw a door close on a police car. An officer was inside and Brown, Jr. was on the outside. She said the two were arm wrestling through the car window. Mitchell said she then tried to pull out her phone to record. Shots then rang out.

"It just didn't look right for them to be arm wrestling," Mitchell said. "The first gun shot came from the window, so I just started getting out of the way."

According to Mitchell, Brown, Jr, began to run away after the first shot was fired.

"After the shot, the kid just breaks away. The cop follows him, kept shooting, the kid's body jerked as if he was hit. After his body jerked he turns around, puts his hands up, and the cop continues to walk up on him and continues to shoot until he goes all the way down," Mitchell said.
