Did anyone see the vice episode today.. they basically covered the white separatist movements and how these guys are doing terrrorist attacks against minority groups and shooting up cops... They even mention how the media isn't covering these attacks.

SMH... Watch the video and tell me if these were 2 black men in the white van they would have had the chance to take it that far....

On May 29, 2013 Najee Rivera was brutally beaten by 2 Philadelphia police officers, Kevin Robinson and Sean McKnight.

The officers said that when they pulled Najee over for allegedly running a stop sign he became frightened and drove away. They said he lost control of his scooter and fell off, hitting the pavement. The officers then claimed that Najee resisted arrest, reached for one of the officer’s batons, and assaulted the other officer. Najee was charged with resisting arrest and aggravated assault.

However, Najee’s girlfriend, Dina Scannapieco, managed to find a surveillance video of the beating that proved that the two officers lied.(TW: The video is graphic and very hard to watch.)

The video shows that the officers drove into Najee, knocking him off his scooter. The officers then immediately jumped out of their car and threw him against a wall and then to the ground. After the beating, they handcuffed him and left him laying on the ground bleeding for several minutes.

Najee had a broken orbital bone, his right eye was severely swollen shut and he suffered many cuts which required stitches and staples. After being treated at the hospital and bailed out of jail, he immediately went to work at his new job at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He was sent home because his boss was concerned that he could catch an infection through his open wounds. After a month, he was fired for not showing up to work for 3 days due to medical reasons, which he had a note for.

After going through human resources, management, and CHOP’s CEO, Najee was told he could reapply for the job but that they weren’t interested in rehiring him.

Thanks to the surveillance video, Officers Robinson and McKnight were suspended for 30 days with intent to dismiss and have since been charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, criminal conspiracy, recklessly endangering another person, tampering with public records or information, false reports to law enforcement authorities, obstructing administration of law, and official oppression.

As for Najee, he filed a lawsuit and won a $200,000 settlement from the city but he’s still fighting to get his job at CHOP back. Najee says “the job was a good paying job. That was a nice career for me. Doing what I like to do best, is to clean. … I worked hard to get to that spot. People wait years to get into CHOP. For me, it was a steppingstone. It was a good job for me and I like to be around kids.”

Najee Rivera shouldn’t have been fired for being attacked. Click here to sign the petition and let CHOP know that Najee deserves to return to his dream job. Only 9,500 more signatures are needed!

2009 - A video showing a Paris, Texas teen being thrown on top of a police car by an arresting officer has sparked more questions about racial issues in the town. The video taken November 2009 shows 18 year old Cornelius Gill, who asserts he was picking pecans near his home when Officer Jeremy Massey approached him with accusations about a car theft, being forcibly thrown onto the vehicle.

Gill has stated that Massey was driving an unmarked pickup truck, was in plain clothes, and was not recognizable as a police officer. Massey subsequently accused Gill of assaulting him during the incident, and suggested in a written statement that the act was out of self-defense. [video]

On August 12th, Esrail Britton, a nineteen-year-old St. Louis native, was in Ferguson protesting Mike Brown’s murder. At about 1am that morning, Esrail was shot by a St. Louis County police officer three times. The officer claimed Esrail pointed a gun at him from five feet away; a gun with none of Esrail’s DNA or fingerprints was recovered far from the scene.Esrail was charged and released from jail on no bond; his judge determined that he was not in any way a threat to society and his health condition was so critical that the jail could not provide the care he needed. However, upon his release, the St. Louis County Police Union mounted an aggressive media campaign, saying they were “disgusted” with Esrail’s release.

A few weeks later, Esrail was put back in jail with a $200,000 cash-only bond. He has now been in jail for more than five months, has not been receiving proper medical care, and cannot move the shoulder in which he was shot, because he has not been allowed to attend physical therapy.

Earlier this week, Esrail’s lawyer got his bond reduced to $20,000 cash-only. The Justice for Mike Brown Legal Support Fund can contribute $6,000 toward Esrail’s bond, but we are still $14,000 short. Because this is an extremely severe situation, we—together with Esrail’s family—are asking members of the movement to help by contributing to this bail fund. If we cannot post bail for Esrail, he’ll be in jail until at least the end of the year, because his trial will not start until September at the earliest. Esrail’s father is a member of the carpenters’ union local 97; although he currently does not have the money to get Esrail out, he is offering to do carpentry for local folks in exchange for contributing to this fund. If you contribute to the fund and are interested in that, please email fergusonjs2014@gmail.com.

Esrail is yet another example of how our criminal justice system does not value Black lives. Please contribute to the fund and let Esrail know there is an entire movement that believes his life matters.
