There’s been a disturbing trend in the media coverage about Mike Brown since the footages of the
Eric Garner and
Tamir Rice murders have circulating on the networks. I’ve noticed that the Mike Brown supporting commentators aren’t on as much, if at all. They’re dismissing the Mike Brown case because of the ‘ambiguities’ and ‘conflicting eyewitness testimony’.
No.
- Mike Brown was shot at least 148 ft away
- Only one witness other than Darren Wilson claimed that Mike Brown charged at the officer
- The assistant prosecutor handed the grand jury an outdated Missouri law that is overruled by a 1985 Supreme Court decision.
These three facts alone are not debatable and should not be dismissed in the discussion of Mike Brown on media networks. Stop using Eric Garner and Tamir Rice to invalidate Mike Brown.
