This dude AP....
I get what dudes saying.. But him and that Deray dude stay begging on Twitter for white folks to see them as human beings and "separating" themselves from the "violent" protestors. One of them even said they'd help out the police and snitch on a new black panther who threw a water bottle at a cop..
Swear I seen one of them tweet something like "we fight to be seen as a human beings"
I know its not really my place but like, really? Cmon man. 99.5 percent of White people aren't ever going to empathize with black people. It's pointless if that's what your "fight" is for. That's never gonna happen. It's harsh, but true.
There may be white protestors out there with them and voices amplified on Twitter or the Internet.. So they think they can "get through to white people" still.. But that's the exception.
I agree.
Look...was tonight the absolute MOST TACTICAL thing we could have done? Probably not. But at the end of the day people actually did *something* and that matters immensely to me.
Ultimately, we are going to need non-violent protesting, voting, boycotting, VIOLENCE....we are eventually going to have to use every trick in the hat. Tonight, the people chose to lash out and vent. Blacks that care (And I know that him and many with that message very much do), would be better off just explaining the anger than continuing to try and distance themselves from those people.
Nobody black should feel embarrassed tonight. Whites are the ones that let this dude off.
And THIS is what's insidious about this coverage....nobody is even talking about Mike brown on MSNBC right now. It's all about the "riots". Makes me sick.
