Does anybody know what they were teaching Ferguson protestors in those awareness classes to "train" them for what to do after the GJ announcement? I'm curious to know if for once we're being strategic instead of doing what they can't wait for us to do...

I for one hope it's not to even protest until Black Friday. That's the best time to do it. It's highly visible and would be crippling to the economic considering most stores make a majority of their money for the fiscal year during the weekend of Black Friday to Cyber Monday.

That's my thing I dont expect nobody to agree with my opinon but I come from a place where I dont have a 10 year class reunion from high school because most of my homies felt like they had no options and they gone one way or the other. My opinion is skewed but comes from the heart of a dude who seen wild sh!t and I ride for my people in a positive way because I rode for my people in the opposite way in the past. I give back and I dont wanna see my people revolt like this we all know well I know how this ends but I see what the books have done for my life and I know if i can save 1 out of 100 of the youngins out the hood maybe we can start building our communities and POLICE ourselves.

I'm glad I read an interesting book on mass communications, right after this shyt went down. Honestly breh its not many people in the position to risk their lives/freedom for a cause that has been going on since we were brought here. It was travon now mike brown it'll be another in a few months but we have already lost this war a long time ago. I hate to say it but the few intellingent folk we have and i may be one of them but i fit into a category of I can try to reach who i can but i cant save us all. I use to say the same thing about reaching 1 out of 100 but the real truth is this. If you are not teaching them to reach back and pull out the people they know on top of that 1 out of 100 then it's not a productive system. Reason being is that if you pull that 1 out and they turn their back then they become part of the problem also...just from a different vantage point. People in the hood will reproduce and those same ideals will be passed down to youth that have to deal with the same poor dead end conditions.

Coward please aint gonna spin this thread I'm from 104 inglewood ave AKA "the bottoms" but I been to Ferguson for Mike brown I came to oakland for Oscar Grant what have you done I coach and tutor kids in math and science i work with kam chancellor to buy uniforms and hold summer camps for at risk youth in Norfolk VA. People want a revolution when the answer is education your not gonna beat the government/military all you can do is raise up a new generation the right way so we OWN until then we will take the scraps off the kiddie table so you can GTFOH.

Education is an answer but it's complete education that is. If you are educating black people under a system that isn't going to allow them but so much upward mobility while misleading them on the history of this country toward their people then it's a fail. We can turn it around and educate our people but what happens is most black educated people get to a place of comfort and acceptance and they turn their backs on their people. So while you and I are the type of people to reach back and help out...look at the people you know that made it out and ask yourself if they truly give a damn about the betterment of our people. Chances are they are part of the "we are the world" crowd.
