- There was another officer-involved shooting last night. An off-duty officer approached a small group of young men in the Shaw neighborhood and attempted a “pedestrian check”. Police say 18 year old high school student, Vonderrit Myers, shot at the officer 3 times but then his gun jammed. The officer then shot Vonderrit Myers 16 or 17 times and killed him. Witnesses and family members say Vonderrit Myers was unarmed and all he had in his hand was a sandwich. Police also claim Vonderrit Myers “was no stranger to law enforcement”. (Storify) (x) (x) (x)
