This. Although his murder still sends a chill up my spine and angers me, the only good thing that came from it is black people are finally starting to wake up and realize white people view us as their enemy.

Shyt really pisses me off because as a person with hook ups with airlines, nobody wanted to fly out with me at all and it would have been cheap as hell(free for me). My girl at the time actually guilt tripped me not to go smmfh

Damn breh. When I told my girl I was going out there, she told me she was proud of me. I think I'm gonna take another trip out there and bring her with me. She needs to experience that shyt.

AN INTERVIEW WITH A DUNN JURY REJECT

A one-time Folio Weekly contributor was in the pool. He’s not bullish on the prosecution’s chances

9/26/14

UPDATE: As a result of this story, the schoolteacher referenced in this story has been dismissed from the jury.

Richard David Smith III is a name familiar to Folio Weeklyreaders, who saw his byline on almost a weekly basis a few years back. Last week, he came very close to serving on the latest Trial of the Century of the Week — the Michael Dunn retrial that tops our local news every evening. But it didn’t quite happen.
Smith spent three days at the courthouse for jury screening, a process he describes as “very long” and filled with “odd questions” from “too many lawyers trying to be comedians,” making “a lot of jokes about budget cuts.”

Some of those japes came from Angela Corey, who seems intent on improving her public image with this case. Folks on hand were treated to cornball quips like “I might break into song,” a joke she made while being told to hold the mic by the judge.

Many of the questions, Smith says, had to do with “race and gun ownership” — a trend reflected in the composition of the jury, many of whom have guns.

It seemed to him — and to me — that the sweet spot in jury selection, those agreeable to prosecution and defense, led to a preponderance of gun owners with children. Given the fact that 10 of the 12 jurors are white, clearly there were factors other than race that came into play.

“I think the defense wanted white males, particularly gun owners,” he says. “I couldn’t quite figure out what the prosecution was looking for other than minorities and/or people with children.”
During the jury selection process, Smith asked for and received a private sidebar. When he divulged that he had written for Folio Weekly in the past, he says, “Angela Corey expressed great sensitivity to things that had been written about her there.” [Editor’s note: Ha.]

“She said, ‘you know they have written a lot of negative, unfair things about me in that magazine, right?” he says. [Editor’s note: Eye roll.]

Smith, of course, has never written about Angela Corey forFolio Weekly or any other publication so far as I’m aware. “I said it wouldn’t affect my impartiality,” he says, adding that “the fact that I brought it to the attention of the court voluntarily should have said something to her.”

An interesting side note, according to Smith: “A 400-pound white schoolteacher who was sitting by me really hated [Corey’s] humor, and made the joke that ‘she would have a hard time proving to a court that I am fat; there would still be reasonable doubt.’” That guy made it onto the jury, Smith says.

Smith also has doubts about the prosecution: “The bigger question to me is, ‘Is the prosecution competent enough to prove the case?’” He also believes he would have made a solid juror, even though his impression of Michael Dunn himself was that of a “stoic monster with a permanent frown carved into his face, like a reverse Joker.”

“If you think about it,” he says, “I would have been an ideal juror for this case.

I am white, my wife is black, and our two sons are mixed. I am pro-Second Amendment. As a journalist, by trade I am objective. I am a stern believer in presumed innocence, agreeing with Benjamin Franklin’s statement that it is better 100 guilty persons should escape than that one innocent person should suffer. The crime took place within walking distance to my house. Basically, I was the perfect ‘peer’ in this case, yet was not selected. What does that tell you about the judicial system in Florida?”

I think it is a foregone conclusion that what's taking place in Ferguson is about to ignite racial unrest around the nation. I highly doubt they are going to indict him. Once that happens, shyt is going to reach levels none of us have seen in our lifetime. It's not just Ferguson. That's merely one case that is the precursor to black America saying ,"Enough!" to our second class status in this country. And when that scream is heard, most of white America (99%, I suspect) is going to react with anger. This is heating up, but there was no other option. They forced our hand and it's time to force theirs. :shaq2:

So what's going to happen?

You know breh, I sometimes have to question that. Man it's a lot of us that are truly loss and can't see it for shyt. When I start preaching it to them they want to start talking about being a christian and let GOD deal with shyt. When I speak on Ferg they act like they don't want to here but so much,

PA police officers burst into home, arrest woman for filming them with cellphone
PAcop-800x430.jpg

A Pennsylvania family has filed a federal lawsuit alleging three Collingdale police officers entered their home without permission to confiscate a cell phone being used to record the officer’s actions in front of their home. Kia Gaymon, 38, and her husband Michael Gaymon, 35, state in the suit that one officer, identified as Officer Carl White, burst into the home without a warrant and arrested her after threatening to use a taser on her, according to NBC10.
In the suit, the officers are accused of unlawful arrest, malicious prosecution, retaliatory arrest, and unlawful search.
According to the Gaymons, the February 22 altercation began when police were called out because a family member had parked her car illegally. The Gaymons state that, as one officer became overly aggressive with his questions, Mrs. Gaymon pulled out her cell phone and began recording.
Noticing that he was being recorded, Officer White advanced on Gaymon demanding she turn off her phone, stating it was illegal to record him without his permission.
Mr. Gaymon and the couple’s 21-year-old daughter, Sanshuray Purnell, told the officer he was wrong and that she had the legal right to film him. According to the lawsuit, the officer then told Mrs. Gaymon that if she didn’t stop recording him he would enter her home, take away her cellphone, and arrest her.
After refusing to allow him to enter her home the officer then handcuffed Purnell. Mrs. Gaymon says a second officer then escorted Purnell away from the scene.
White then allegedly entered the home, ignoring the couple’s demand that he not come inside, and demanded the phone, placing a taser against Mrs. Gaymon’s chest and threatening to use it.
“I panicked,” she said. “I was scared.”
The suit states that two officer then arrested Mrs. Gaymon along with her daughter and charged them both with disorderly conduct.
The family’s attorney said the police had no cause to enter the home illegally and make an arrest.
“The actions that are described in the citation are for videoing the officer,” said Jonathan Fienberg. “It’s not a crime.”
Mrs. Gaymon and Purnell appeared before a judge on May 22 and, after hearing their testimony, the judge dismissed all charges against them.
According to the lawsuit, the officers, “had no legal cause to believe that any plaintiff committed any crime” and that they “maliciously initiated a criminal prosecution.”
The lawsuit also accuses the officers of illegally entering the home without a warrant.
The Collingdale Police Chief has not responded to the suit, deferring to the department’s solicitor.
