Hmmm . . . you would think since Tariq was so misguided at one time he would provide a bit of grace to those who still are. Instead . . .
nikka please.

The information has been broadcasted for years now and people chose their sides to the point that whole YouTube channels had to be created to painstakingly detail the creation of hip hop culture piece by piece to prove something that was supposed to be common knowledge, only for the detractors to then turn around and say who cares about the creation of hip hop.

You’re just like crackers.

Worst actually because you can blend in and you’re all great actors.

i dont get why ppl mad at Wallo. Didnt he just say that the wont support a bad product regardless of who makes it? But if it is a good product made by black ppl he will ?
Yes it is and I agreed with him. All the "entrepreneurs" I know are arrogant as hell. You try to give them advice or opinions on why their business is struggling and it's like they lack the ability to admit that they may have done something wrong. It in turn becomes excuses about how nobody wants to support black business. I'm like nah you charging unnecessarily high prices in a low income city and have bad customer service.

Not everyone is plugged in to the YouTube channels and paying attention to the details.
I was told I was FBA since I have one African American parent. So I'm not blending in I AM, thank you very much. lol

They lied.

We only accepting uncut lineage until we can do a thorough background check on the foreign parent.

Too many children of Cointelpro agents running around thinking they slick.

hiphop is older than dancehall

Before there was a specific sound, ‘the dancehall’ referred spaces where young people would gather to hear selectors (dj’s) play the latest music from all genre’s

Jamaican’s such as DJ Kool Herc brought the practice to New York ushering the beginnings of hip hop

Stop acting like you clowns don’t understand this

We all used to believe that lie.

It was drilled into your head especially if you were a “real hip hop head.”

:duck:

Lies.

For decades people thought DJ King Mario was half Puerto Rican but no one cared about any of that what ethnicity was this DJ or that DJ. Tariq started that bullshyt. The reason you were spewing misinformation is because you never really cared about the origin of hip hop till Tariq (the God you worship) told you to care all after the fact, even tho the info was already out there.

This docu came out in 2011. It's hosted by the legendary Chuck D. There's a whole thread on it on The Coli from 2014. If you and Tariq were unaware of any of this that' was on you. The info been out way before 2018. There's no excuse.

There is absolutely no excuse for Tariq to have made that Tweet 7 years after this documentary was out there for years. The reason he made that Tweet is because 1) he never gave a shyt about doing research on Hip Hops origin prior 2) He wasn't stressing any of that "what ethnicity created Hip Hop" stuff till he started his personal diaspora war.

One more thing. The Founding Fathers docu puts a spotlight on DJ King Charles who is Jamaican and also came before Herc in the late 60's so King Charles' existence throws a monkey wrench in the whole "Only FBA's created Hip Hop" jargon.

Nobody heard of Mario outside of the Bronx until a few years ago when the record started being corrected by the actual pioneers, tether, that’s not decades.

In the 80s, 90s, and 00s, the years that mattered, King Herc was all you heard.
