Regal and Arn Anderson were the first to come to mind. Arn is probably my favorite to never win a world title but I'm not mad he never got it to be honest, he's the perfect "TV/Tag" wrestler and that's why I love him as a performer. Regal just fukked it up in 2008, dude was primed to get an awesome run as champ

According to Flair, Ted was primed for a NWA Title run in the mid 80's (when Teddy was wrecking shyt in Mid-South) but someone politicked - I can't remember who - for Flair to keep the strap. Then Ted just went to Japan and then to the WWF.
