As a person the has fresh ears for his entire discography (everything up until Darkside Vol. 2 within the past 3 weeks), I’d say he’s currently fairly average, but at his peak (93-02) he was very above average with a top tier beat selection. Makes me feel like Nas should’ve been next to Fat Joe and Rick Ross picking beats from Street’s Disciple and on.
