[Rarely-Wrong Liggins]

Outside of the Sting/Hogan buildup to Starrcade 97', the DDP/Macho Man feud was probably my favorite and the best executed feud of the entire Nitro era. You could argue that it was thee best rivalry of the Nitro era.

Sting and Hogan is my most memorable. A year of buildup tuning in to Nitro every week hoping Sting would finally talk. Him beating the whole NWO and Hogan running scared. Only to be disappointed that Hogan stil would not put him over clean at Starcade. That to me is the moment that WCW started going downhill.

Hogan vs Savage... especially looking back at how it subtly built up for months. At the time I didn't notice, but it started bubbling from the SummerSlam prior, just little by little.

Soon as they had their big victory as friends, Savage sees Elizabeth hug Hogan and starts lookin' like ... but nothing happens.

Hogan says he loves Elizabeth... Macho goes ... like a sister, and Macho cools off.

Hogan saves Elizabeth while Savage is down... Savage goes but he chills.

Hogan eliminates Savage from the Rumble... Savage is like and ready to go at him, but Liz calms him down. But now Savage starts going on and on about how he's the champion and Hogan's not.

Then finally, Hogan carries Elizabeth back to the dressing room and Savage goes and beats Hogan down.

Then there's Elizabeth in the middle of it. Hogan beats Savage and Liz sides with him. Then Savage gets a new chick on his side, Sherri. So now it's Hogan/Liz against Savage/Sherri... Savage teams up with Zeus to take on Hogan and his boy Beefcake... then Elizabeth gets revenge on Sherri at SummerSlam '89 while Hogan/Beefcake put Savage/Zeus down.

That was one of the best-done builds and feuds ever. Elizabeth brings them together as friends, then ends up being the reason they fall out... a two-year story with the two top stars in the company.
